Marv Garland
Marv Garland moved to Hillsboro with his family as a young man in 1955, and began high school at HilHi, graduating from there in 1960. Marv’s parents were active in the community. His father, Dr. James Garland, practiced medicine in Hillsboro as a General Practitioner with an emphasis in Internal Medicine for 40 years, beginning in 1955.
After high school, Marv spent a few years working in radio broadcasting in Kelso, Washington; Anchorage and Ketchikan, Alaska; and in Hillsboro.
Marv completed his undergraduate degree at Portland State University in 1969, majoring in Political Science, with minors in Business Administration and Psychology. Marv received his Juris Doctor degree from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College in 1973, and began his private practice in Hillsboro. In addition to membership in the Oregon State Bar, he is admitted to practice in the Federal District Court for the District of Oregon.
