Dennis Griffiths

Dennis enjoys reading and researching history. On Wednesdays you'll often find him working in his office at the Oregon State Sheriffs' Association in Salem where he volunteers as the OSSA Historian. His favorite area of history is the period leading up to the American Revolution and the years of the formation of the United States.

On the less intellectual side, he enjoys a bit of adventurous travel. He and his wife have gone fairly far out into the ocean with an out-rigger racing team in Hawaii to run some time trials; then did some wave surfing with them before coming back in. They also have done quite a bit of white-water rafting in a lot of 4s and 5s - that's white water talk. Recently he went for his first parasailing ride in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. A couple of years ago, for his birthday, his wife took him to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for NASCAR driving lessons.

Back before man walked on the moon, Dennis learned to ride a motorcycle while in the US Navy and stationed in a ship home ported at Charleston, S.C. A couple years ago, he finally got his Harley and has really been enjoying it - very, very carefully.

On the more sedate side of travel and adventure Dennis and Joyce along with Marv and Marla enjoy wine tasting in the various wine country valleys of northern California.
